FAQs
If your question doesn't get answered below, visit FAQs on other pages or email Tyler Fish.
Can I really complete the roster prior to handing out the surveys?
Yes. If you assign students their Survey IDs ahead of time and know the date of the survey, then everything can be filled out ahead of time, leaving you with very little to do at the end.
Wait, what's the difference between paper Survey IDs and electronic Survey IDs?
There are four differences:
-
Paper uses a three-digit number that is found on the surveys themselves in the top right corner. Electronic IDs are one two letters. In both cases, student IDs are unique and should not be shared.
-
Paper IDs can be noted ahead of time or when surveys are turned in, but electronic IDs must be assigned ahead of time; it is how they access their surveys on their devices.
-
The paper number IDs must be be bubbled in, while you do nothing for the letter IDs.
-
They are in different columns on the Crew Roster.
Is the process very different between paper and electronic?
They are almost identical processes. The only differences are Survey IDs (see above) and the fact that you do not collect surveys at the end. Of course in both cases you will need to set students up for success, read the script and help them when they need it.
Why do we both scan and mail things?
The scans are so that we have a backup, just in case something happens in the mail or information is needed later. Nothing happens with the scans, and they are secure. The paper roster and surveys are what get scanned and turned into data. Having a backup is best practice.
